Expansion of grade VP15TF by 43 inserts
April 15. 2009
Use grade VP15TF for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron and, most importantly, heat resistant alloys
Technical Information:
- VP15TF features (Al,Ti)N coating with greatly increased heat resistance and adhesion strength
- Substrate is grade TF15, a micro-grain alloy with high wear resistance and toughness
- Use when roughing parts where impact resistant is paramount
- High transverse rupture strength
- Above average hardness of 91.5 (HRA)
- Available in chipbreakers, such as FJ, MJ, MS and GJ, suitable for machining heat resistant alloys
Applications to Target:
- Heat resistant alloys
- Stainless steel
- Cast Iro
- Steel
- Use when roughing parts where impact resistant is paramount
Benefits:
- Machine heat resistant alloys at maximum production rate
- Withstand high impacts when work piece engagement is interrupted by slots, holes and gaps
- VP coating oxidizes at higher temperature than TiN and (TiAl)N PVD coatings allowing higher cutting speeds
