Expansion of grade VP15TF by 43 inserts

April 15. 2009

Use grade VP15TF for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron and, most importantly, heat resistant alloys
Technical Information:
  • VP15TF features (Al,Ti)N coating with greatly increased heat resistance and adhesion strength
  • Substrate is grade TF15, a micro-grain alloy with high wear resistance and toughness
  • Use when roughing parts where impact resistant is paramount
  • High transverse rupture strength
  • Above average hardness of 91.5 (HRA)
  • Available in chipbreakers, such as FJ, MJ, MS and GJ, suitable for machining heat resistant alloys

Applications to Target:
  • Heat resistant alloys
  • Stainless steel
  • Cast Iro
  • Steel
  • Use when roughing parts where impact resistant is paramount
Benefits:
  • Machine heat resistant alloys at maximum production rate
  • Withstand high impacts when work piece engagement is interrupted by slots, holes and gaps
  • VP coating oxidizes at higher temperature than TiN and (TiAl)N PVD coatings allowing higher cutting speeds
