New METRIC product; the PMC screw-in indexable endmill for vertical machining of die and mold applications.

Technical Information:

• PMC is economical, as it uses the AJX std insert, (insert thickness prevents fracturing)
• 3 grades & 3 breaker geometries are available which provides for a wide range work piece applications
• Screw & clamp bridge secures the insert therefore, the tool to can be used for vertical plunge and return machining
• Three diameters are available that cover a wide application range
• Time required for vertical feed machining can be reduced by 50% compared to special brazed tooling

Applications to Target:

• Sheet press die and mold, (trim relief face)
• Possible to carry out profiling, (for slopes less than 30 deg)

Benefits:

• PMC screw in head & carbide shank can replace special brazed tooling
• 3-D machining possible with PMC vertical plunging, and automated machining also possible. Compared to brazed tooling is usually 2-D machining and you have to manually set the Z axis. Operator needs to monitor machining.
