Technical Information:
  • New PVD coated grade "MP8010" for milling of high hardened steel
  • MP8010 grade will be applied to SRF and ARX, (metric), milling products
  • Coating layer; new AlTiSi type coating with high hardness and high anti-oxidized properties
  • Substrate; new hard "Ultra-fine grain" cemented carbide
MP8010
Applications to Target:
  • Target is the die and mold industry
  • In general, EDM, grinding and high speed milling with SCEM's and cBN are used for machining of hardened steel and nitrided steel. However, it takes too much time and cost with these techniques. Many customers are looking for a highly efficient machining option by using low-cost carbide inserts. Hence, the new PVD coated grade "MP8010"
  • MP8010 grade is for finish milling of steel over HRC50
  • MP8010 also shows equal performance verses cBN in high-speed milling for cast iron applications
Benefits:
  • The MP8010 grade is used for finish milling of steel over HRC50
  • The MP8010 grade insert can be another option compared to SCEM's or even cBN
  • The MP8010 has comparable performance to cBN !
  • If you were using the SRF with VP10MF in 55HRC steel, try MP8010 for improved toughness and wear resistance
  • If you were using the ARX with VP15TF, try MP8010 for finish milling of steel over HRC50
  • VP15TF is recommended for finish machining of steel less than 55HRC
