Expansion of FV chip breaker inserts

98 additional, positive rake, inserts will become available with the FV chip breaker
Technical Information:
  • The FV chip breaker is our first recommendation for finishing carbon steel, alloy steel and mild steel
  • Sharp cutting edge and low resistance design provides excellent cutting performance
  • Suitable for low DOC and IPR applications
  • Availability in "C" side relief angle inserts is being expanded
  • Availability in "B" and "P" side relief angle inserts is being initiated
  • Inserts are mainly intended for use in Dimple bars
  • Inserts are now available in coated carbide grades UE6020 and VP10RT and cermet grades NX2525 and NX3035

Applications to Target:
  • Turning and boring applications in carbon steel, alloy steel and mild steel
  • Apply cermet grades when boring or finish turning
  • Applications with DOC's from 0.008" to 0.03"
  • Applications with feed rates from 0.002" to 0.008" per rev
  • Applications where chip control is critical such as cells with robotic work handling
  • Applications using C, D, T and V shaped positive rake inserts
