Mitsubishi Carbide introduces cBN grades for hard turning

April 10. 2006
cBNMitsubishi Carbide introduces MB8025 and MBC010, a product line of high performance coated cubic boron nitride grades for turning hardened steels. Mitsubishi Material’s advancements in brazing technology enables cBN to now be brazed directly to the insert substrate thus, making a cBN blank much stronger and suitable for higher speeds despite heat generated in the cut. MB8025 grade is targeted for continuous and interrupted turning applications by applying an improved sintering process technology which enhances wear and fracture resistance. MBC010 grade’s objective is for high speed and high wear resistant applications by employing an exclusive micro-grain technology in addition to a distinctive ceramic coating which allows for excellent surface finishes. This combination increases insert life which equates to generous cost savings for our customers.
