CVD coated grade for milling cast iron F5020
April 07. 2004

Improved wear and fracture resistance as a result of Microstructure control technology.
Covering a wide range of milling applications for cast iron.
Features
F5020 is a general purpose milling grade for cast iron with greatly improved wear and fracture resistance as a result of Mitsubishi's proprietary, micro-structure controlling technology.
- Improved wear resistance
-
Combining super fine grain, carbonize titanium layer and flat-alumna (Al2O3) layer, the F5020 coating has enhanced wear resistance over conventional products.
- Improved fracture resistance
-
Due to the newly developed cemented carbide substrate for milling castiron, F5020 has improved thermal crack resistance. This allows for increased reliability and resistance to abrupt tool breakage from cutting edge chipping.
- Preventing Built-Up edge
-
Surface coating layers are a lamination of special titanium compounds that is vapor deposited by Even Coating technology. This process prevents occurrences of welding, which is a cause of chipping on top cutting edge.
