Launch of the S-TAW, small diameter indexable drill

Mitsubishi Materials Corporation has recently developed and manufactured the new S-TAW small diameter indexable drills. These will start to be sold by Mitsubishi Materials Tools Corporation (President: Osamu Takata, Headquarters: 1-6-1 Yokoami, Sumida-ku, Tokyo).
S-TAW small diameter indexable drills The S-TAW range of small diameter indexable drills will complement the already existing TAW drill series. The S-TAW series is available from the diameter ø10.0mm through to ø13.9mm. It employs the newly developed unique clamping system that offers excellent clamping rigidity, therefore ensuring prolonged tool life.

Features of the S-TAW small diameter indexable drill

The body features the unique clamping system that has a built-in clamp screw inside. This enables strong and firm clamping of the insert and simplicity when changing inserts.
2.
The body is made from a special alloy steel with excellent high-temperature strength. It also has a special surface treatment that provides higher corrosion and abrasion resistance resulting in outstanding durability in comparison with a brazed drill.
3.
The insert uses MIRACLE VP coating that gives high resistance to heat, wear and oxidation, enabling it to deliver longer tool life.
