Launch of the VF-MFPR roughing end mill (M)

Mitsubishi Materials Corporation has recently developed and manufactured a new addition to the IMPACT MIRACLE end mill series, the VF-MFPR, IMPACT MIRALCE roughing end mills (medium cut length). These will start to be sold by Mitsubishi Materials Tools Corporation (President: Osamu Tanaka, Headquarters: 1-6-1 Yokoami, Sumida-ku, Tokyo).
VF-MFPR The IMPACT MIRALCE roughing end mill employs a cutting edge geometry that greatly improves fracture resistance compared to conventional end mills. It also uses Impact Miracle coating with high heat and wear resistance, thus enabling even higher efficiency and longer tool life when roughing of difficult-to-cut materials and hardened steel. The latest addition of the medium cut length type makes it suitable for a wide range of machining applications including rough machining of deep vertical walls.

Features of the VF-MFPR

In comparison with conventional end mills, fracture resistance of the cutting edge has been substantially improved. This results in higher efficiency and longer tool life over a wide range of materials from general steel through to difficult-to-cut materials and hardened steel.

The unique wavy cutting edge for efficient chip breaking, coupled with a 30° helix angle and cross sectional geometry for improved chip disposal contributes to a massive reduction of the cutting resistance.
3.
Impact Miracle coating with good heat and wear resistance offers excellent machining performance on both hardened steel and difficult-to-cut materials.
4.
Medium cut length type suitable for vertical wall machining. 9 different sizes are available ranging from ø5mm to ø20mm.
