Launch of the VF-4MB, 4 flute IMPACT MIRACLE ball nose end mill

Mitsubishi Materials Corporation has recently developed and manufactured a new addition to the IMPACT MIRACLE end mill series, the VF-4MB, 4 flute IMPACT MIRALCE ball nose end mill. These will start to be sold by Mitsubishi Materials Tools Corporation (President: Osamu Tanaka, Headquarters: 1-6-1 Yokoami, Sumida-ku, Tokyo).

In recent years, to increase the life of dies and moulds such as press moulds, the hardness of mould materials is increasing. Meanwhile, for the reduction of costs, there is an increasing need for higher efficiency machining.
The VF-4MB end mill employs the 4 flute geometry that has a full cutting edge to the centre of the ball nose in combination with Impact Miracle coating with high heat and wear resistance. This results in longer tool life and higher efficiency even when machining hardened steel. Additionally, the unique cutting edge geometry prevents chipping problems that are often caused when machining hardened steel to enable stable machining.
