Launch of CBN-2XLRB, 2 flute CBN long neck radius end mill

Mitsubishi Materials Corporation has recently developed and manufactured a new 2 flute CBN long neck radius end mill, CBN-2XLRB for the CBN end mill series. These will start to be sold by Mitsubishi Materials Tools Corporation (President: Osamu Takata, Headquarters: 1-6-1 Yokoami, Sumida-ku, Tokyo).

In recent years, higher quality, shorter delivery and reduced costs are required for die and mould applications, and the requirement for the reduction of time and costs taken for final polishing operations is also increasing. The CBN-2XLRB end mill series is suitable for finish machining of pre-hardened steel through to hardened materials such as heat-treated steel over 65HRC. Special CBN material that has high fracture resistance and the optimum tool design enables long, stable operations. Additionally, it exhibits excellent finishing performance, leading to a substantial reduction in polishing operations of moulds.
