New inserts for the APX4000 multi-functional cutter series

Mitsubishi Materials Corporation has recently developed and manufactured a new range of inserts for its APX4000 multi-functional indexable cutter series. These new inserts will start to be sold by Mitsubishi Materials Tools Corporation (President: Osamu Takata, Headquarters: 1-6-1 Yokoami, Sumida, Tokyo).
The innovative APX multi-functional cutter comfortably achieves three important factors necessary for a successful indexable insert milling tool – low cutting resistance, high fracture resistance and long tool life. To widen the application area available for the cutters, large corner radius inserts have been added to the tough edge type H breaker inserts for APX4000. Features of the new inserts

- 2 types of corner radius inserts, R3.2mm and R6.35mm are now included in the range of the fracture resistant H breaker inserts.
- 2.
- A combination with the Miracle coated grade VP20RT makes it suitable for machining of difficult-to-cut materials such as titanium alloy.
