Launch of the MGS solid carbide gun drill series

  Mitsubishi Materials Corporation has recently developed and manufactured a new series of solid carbide gun drills MGS. These new drills will start to be sold by Mitsubishi Materials Tools Corporation (President: Osamu Tanaka, Headquarters: 1-6-1 Yokoami, Sumida-ku, Tokyo).
MGS   The MGS solid carbide gun drill is a high-grade carbide, solid type drill capable of drilling holes with high roundness and straightness tolerances and is suitable for
(1) continuous feed drilling of 30~50xD hole depths.

Features of the MGS solid carbide gun drill

1.

  • The use of the all carbide solid design improves overall rigidity, making it possible to provide high precision holes.

2.
Possible to drill small-diameter, deep holes with continuous feed, therefore allowing for extra high efficiency machining. (L/D=30~50D)
3.
Can be used with a driver for gun drill machines (special machines) and shrink fit holders.

  • Complete hole drilling at a fixed feed without a peck cycle or retraction of the drill to clear the chips.
