Corner radius 2.4 added to the APX3000 series

Mitsubishi Materials Corporation has recently manufactured a new range of inserts for its APX3000 multi-functional indexable cutters. These new inserts will start to be sold by Mitsubishi Materials Tools Corporation (President: Osamu Takata, Headquarters: 1-6-1 Yokoami, Sumida-ku, Tokyo).
The innovative APX3000 multi-functional cutter, launched in October 2004, has three main features low cutting resistance, high fracture resistance and long tool life. The range of the APX3000 series has now been expanded to include new inserts with corner radius of R2.4mm.
Key features of new R2.4mm inserts for the APX3000

- As in the original APX3000, 3 dimensional cutting edge geometry offers low cutting resistance and high fracture resistance.

- The use of large corner radius makes it suitable for 3-D copying operations.
- 3.
- The inserts are available in 2 different grades, VP15TF for general purpose turning and VP20RT for stainless steel turning.
