Launch of new Double Clamp VNMG type holder and updated Double Clamp series

  Mitsubishi Materials Corporation has recently developed and manufactured new tool holders for the VNMG type insert. Additionally a new range of double clamp type boring bars and an updated range of the complete Double Clamp series has been developed. These new holders will be available from Mitsubishi Materials Tools Corporation (President: Osamu Takata, Headquarters: 1-6-1 Yokoami, Sumida-ku, Tokyo).
Double Clamp   The Double Clamp type indexable insert tool holder ensures that the side and bottom of the insert can be securely clamped in a single operation. The Double Clamp mechanism also ensures easy mounting and dismounting of the insert. Due to these excellent features, the existing series has enjoyed a good reputation in the market since the initial launch.
　The new Double Clamp holders, boring tools and the VNMG insert type holder will be supplied in response to strong customer demands for a wider selection of products. Furthermore, the new improved design of the tool body and clamp allows for better chip discharge and higher wear resistance.

Key features of the new Double Clamp tool holders.

Special surface treatment of the body provides higher corrosion and wear resistance.
2.
The clamp bridge is designed for improved chip flow to help eliminate chip jamming and the new types are also compatible with both right and left hand tool holders.
3.
The clamp screw has torx holes in both ends, making it possible to easily use a torx wrench from the top or bottom of the holder. This feature makes it especially easy to attach and remove the insert even when an inverted holder is used.
4.
The new boring tool holder has a dimple shaped body to improve vibration resistance and through coolant holes for better chip discharge and increased coolant supply.
