CRN SERIES END MILLS

October 06, 2006
CRN

Series expansion, corner radius types CRN2MRB and CRN2XLRB.

The CRN coated series of end mills were developed for machining copper and copper alloy components, especially electrodes for the mould and die industry.

NEW ADDITIONS
With the addition of 58 items to the series, comprising of the new CRN2MRB type (2 flute, corner radius end mill, Ø6 – Ø12 with radii 0.2, 0.3, 0.5 and 1mm) and the CRN2XLRB type (2 flute, long neck, corner radius end mill, Ø0.5 – Ø6 with radii 0.01 – 1mm) a total of 308 items within 7 different types are now available for an even wider range of applications. These latest corner radius types allow higher performance when machining internal corner radii than ball nose types. Additionally, the long neck type, with a recessed neck is ideal for deep pocketing and deep wall applications.
COATING
CRN coating has been developed with higher hardness and enhanced adhesion properties to the substrate than was previously achievable. The result of this latest coating technology shows greater wear resistance at high temperatures and helps significantly to retain the sharp cutting edge geometry necessary for copper machining applications.

CRN end mills have a low friction coefficient against copper even at high temperatures and are also highly resistant to welding. This results in superior lubrication properties and excellent surface finishes when dry machining copper at high speeds
